The UAE’s Ministry of Health has announced launching its topnotch blockchain-powered platform.
The platform is part of the government’s plan to integrate blockchain technology into all health services.
Amin Al Amiri, assistant undersecretary of the Ministry of Health, said:
“The transition to the AI technologies is in line with the directives of the wise leadership to make the UAE a leading global model in the proactive confrontation of future challenges and focus on smart health care. The AI-based projects will play a key role in enhancing the capabilities of health care services and providing smart medical solutions, in accordance with the UAE Centennial 2071, and its artificial intelligence strategy.”
“This innovative platform comes as part of MoHAP’s strategy to develop smart systems and provide the best smart electronic services, to achieve customer happiness and implement the standards of the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority and smart government enablers,” he said.
The topnotch blockchain-powered platform will help medical professionals when they want to know specific drugs, methods of use, suppliers and costs.
Lubna Al Shaali, director of Public Health Policy department, said:
“This blockchain-based platform would help secure an unchangeable, decentralized and encrypted database with high-security protection to verify data validity and reliability.”
She indicated that the blockchain technology would help improve the authentication and accuracy of data and information. “This, in turn, will provide a high level of transparency and confidence in the healthcare services sector.”
Cryptolydian earlier reported that the UAE can save over AED 11 billion ($3 billion) through adopting the cutting-edge blockchain technology.
Bblockchain author Sukhi Jutla:
“The UAE has been smart enough to understand that this innovation will grow in years to come and they don’t want to miss it. I wouldn’t be surprised if the UAE becomes the leading nation in this space just as they did with the oil and property space.”
It seems that the UAE focuses on the blockchain industry as it was reported that 80% of public and private entities adopt such cutting-edge technology widely.
