Travala Allows Hotel Booking with Tether

Travala, a leading company offering Blockchain-based hotel booking, has announced accepting room booking with the most popular cryptocurrency Tether (USDT).

CEO Matt Luczynski said, “Part of our mission is to provide our users with a wide choice of the most well-known and used cryptocurrencies so it made perfect sense for us to integrate Tether as a payment option on Travala.com.”

Beside Tether, the travel agency also accepts payment of other cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP, Litecoin and Binance Coin.

Sean Mackay, operations leader at PaymentsSource, said, “Merchants used to accept Bitcoin, Ethereum, Ripple and convert it into Tether in order to hedge against the volatility.”

“Now we are seeing the payments just being done directly in Tether,” he added.

The travel agency said in a recent report that the number of rooms booked via its website has been rising steadily in 2019, and increased remarkably this month. It reached 1,528 in December, up 15.2% compared with November. In addition, the average room price reached $115, rising more than 15 percent from $133 during the same period.

“Travala.com platform currently offers 2,000,000+ properties covering 90,124 destinations in 230 countries and territories, and with prices up to 40 percent cheaper than mainstream travel booking platforms,” the company said on its website.

The Hong Kong-based coin entered the market in 2017 and received eagerness from merchants all over the world.
