Luckbox, an esports betting platform, has allowed its customers to deposit cryptocurrencies as a new payment method.
The firm is currently supporting four cryptocurrencies: Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP and Litecoin.
“While traditional bookmakers take bets on esports using fiat currencies and sometimes Bitcoin, betting with in-game items and skins is virtually non-existent at licensed operators,” the company said on its website.
Luckbox added that unlicensed betting companies provide skin betting with virtual items. Thus, it plans to change that through supporting the proper licenses and regulations.
The platform has some prominent games, such as Dota 2, Overwatch, CS: GO, and League of Legends.
Quentin Martin, chief operating officer, said: “We’re seeing an increasing demand among users to use crypto across the whole igaming industry and we’re delighted to be able to respond to the preference of our players by providing it as an option.”
He added that his company seeks to fulfill its customer satisfaction through offering them several innovative ideas and options.
“So, as well as those who want to use credit cards, debit cards, Neteller, Skrill and all the other traditional payment methods, we’re now able to cater for those who prefer to deposit in crypto,” Martin said.
The company plans to launch its own cryptocurrency LuckCash (LCK) later this year, likely in the second quarter of 2020.
