Charles Hoskinson, co-founder of Cardano (ADA) and Ethereum (ETH), has recently unveiled his list of favorite cryptocurrencies, Herald Sheets website reported.
One may expect Hoskinson, who is also CEO of IOHK, to talk about any of the biggest cryptocurrencies, such as Bitcoin, Ethereum or even XRP. However, he shed light on some little known cryptocurrencies.
StarkWare
StarkWare is one of Hoskinson’s favorite cryptocurrencies. It was co-founded by Eli Ben Sasson, who was part of the team who created Zcash. The purpose of this project is to allow scalability on-chain through the use of zero-knowledge proofs.
Hoskinson added this coin to his list, because of the role it played in improving Cardano (ADA) scalability.
“Those are wonderful people and they’re incredibly smart people. And again, they’re allowing us to do amazing things with scale,” he said.
Tezos
Tezos was co-founded by Kathleen Breitman to ensure reliability of the code required for assets and other high-value functionalities. Despite harsh criticism of Cardano from the Tezos community, Hoskinson proceeded to support the project.
He said:
“I don’t really like their community too much because they’re so toxic and negative towards us and they just never seem to let an opportunity kick us when we’re down, escape. But overall, I do have a lot of respect for at least the philosophy and the technology that they’ve been deploying.”
Lightning Labs
The project, developed as a solution for Bitcoin network, aims to offer users an effective way of sending and receiving funds. Hoskinson confirmed he subscribes to the development approach of Elizabeth Stark.
He said:
“I have a lot of respect for Lightning Labs. <…> And that’s a good solution, if not for scalability, for interoperability between cryptocurrencies. And they seem to be easy enough to talk to, to collaborate with, and fairly open people, good people.”
Dash
It is an open-source cryptocurrency, forked from the Bitcoin protocol. Hoskinson commented on the project, saying:
“I have a lot of respect for the Dash community. I think they were one of the first to really prove out a cryptocurrency treasury and show the power of a treasury. And they even sponsored research at Arizona State University with it.”
The other coins about whom Hoskinson’s CEO talked about were Ergo, ZCash, Dash, Algorand, Avalanche, and Basic Attention Token.
